AUSTERAN / FLOWGRID

A tool for decisions grounded in project evidence.

FlowGrid is being developed as a practical decision-support tool throughout a project. It aims to connect each issue to its source, impact and decision authority, helping teams protect scope, schedule and budget and give clients a more predictable experience.

THE PROBLEM

Context breaks at the interfaces.

Drawings, correspondence, site observations and decisions often live in different places. A later change can be difficult to trace back to the source, the people affected and the authority behind it.

01 / SOURCE

What changed?

Keep the relevant source and version visible.

02 / DEPENDENCY

Who is affected?

Surface the design and delivery interfaces that need review.

03 / REVIEW

What remains open?

Separate a proposal from checked evidence and unresolved questions.

04 / DECISION

Who decides?

Record the authorised decision and its conditions.

This sequence is an illustrative operating model. It is not a product screenshot, customer case or verified performance claim.

CURRENT POSITION

Built in stages. No general release claimed.

The first module and its supporting controls are still under development and validation. Technical checks and synthetic examples do not establish readiness for live project data, professional acceptance or broad deployment.

Any pilot would require its own agreed scope, data permissions, review responsibilities and acceptance decision.

TWO COMPLEMENTARY TRACKS

Advisory work and platform development have different mandates.

THE VISION

Better decisions across the whole project life.

FlowGrid is intended to connect information that already shapes a project: the brief, drawings and models, quantities, specifications, correspondence, site observations, change and decisions. When an issue arises, the team should be able to see its source, its potential effect on scope, schedule and budget, who must review it and what was finally authorised.

The intended result is more control, a more predictable client experience and stronger client satisfaction. These remain design goals until real pilots measure them; FlowGrid is a tool to support professional decisions, not a substitute for them.

PRACTICAL VALUE

Less searching. Better context. A clearer next action.

01For project leadersSee open questions, owners, dependencies and the decisions that affect scope, cost or time.

02For design teamsKeep design inputs, versions and review comments connected to the relevant interface.

03For decision makersReceive a concise, source-linked picture of the options, uncertainty and proposed action.

INTEGRATION HORIZON

Meet teams where their work already lives.

The integration direction includes CAD and BIM tools, quantity and cost-estimating tools, specification and tender tools, document management, planning and communication systems. An integration should preserve the originating file, version, authorisation and change history, rather than create a second unchecked source of truth.

These are intended integration categories. Specific connectors, data formats and bidirectional workflows require separate design, provider access and validation; no live integration is claimed here.

DESIGNED FOR ADOPTION

Complexity behind a simple working view.

The target experience is role-aware and task-focused: a person should be able to find the relevant source, understand the question and act within their authority without learning a new project language. Permissions, traceability and human review must remain visible where they affect a decision.
